Hi all! I just wanted to give everyone a long-overdue update on the site. I know updates have been pretty much non-existent lately, and I'm sorry about that. Health issues have been limiting the time I can dedicate to working on the site, but I haven't disappeared entirely!

Also complicating things is the fact that keeping the site up and functional has been a bit of a challenge lately. The original version of CatFoodDB.com was developed back in 2014/2015, using the standard web technology of that time. Fast forward to 2024, and those tools and libraries are now outdated and unsupported. This has made it more difficult than it should be to keep the site updated and running smoothly.

A complete overhaul of the database and the website is desperately needed, and that’s what I've been focusing on with the limited time I have. My goal is to create an updated version of CatFoodDB.com that can be easily maintained and improved for years to come.

Additionally, Google has made changes that have severely impacted small sites like this one. You've probably noticed that large corporate websites dominate Google search results now, along with user-generated content sites like Reddit and Quora. This has drastically reduced our visibility in search results, which means less revenue to cover our hosting costs.

But it’s not all bad news! I’m really excited about the new and improved CatFoodDB.com that I'm slowly putting together. While I don’t have a launch date yet, I’m working hard to make it happen as soon as possible.

Thank you again for your patience and support. As always, if you spot any typos or errors, know of updates I should include, or have brand suggestions you'd like to see added, please let me know. I can't promise immediate changes, but I will definitely add them to the list!
